John Abraham gifted girlfriend Bipasha a house full of lights

Bipasha Basu took off to spend some quality time with boyfriend John Abraham, who is shooting in London. But before she did, he arranged for a beautiful house-warming surprise for her.
The actress, who has just moved into her newly done-up place, says, "John bought all the chandeliers and beautiful light fixtures that I had liked from all over the world and put them up all over my apartment. He had planned all this with my interior designer Ahsan and made the payments before he left for London." The actor is shooting for Abbas Tyrewalla's 1-800-Love Story in London.
Bipasha is very touched by her beau's gesture, "John knew how much effort and time I had spent in choosing each and every item in my home after six months of research after going through many catalogs and videos from all over. All my chandeliers and light fixtures are from Italy and Spain, there's even one in the bathroom. It was amazing to see all the chandeliers lit up!"
John had bought the home accessories without her knowledge and with Ahsan's help. On July 29, the actress had her griha pravesh and that's when she saw all the trouble John had taken. "I was surprised totally. I am so excited with my gift. I have to plan now what to give John for his home."
Spending time with John
The actress will spend time with John briefly before flying to the US to join Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Katrina Kaif for the Bollywood Meet And Greet show with fans in USA. "They are just appearances in Houston and Chicago and no singing or dancing is involved."
Akshay Kumar-John Abraham-Strip Dance In Come On Pappu
Rohit Dhawan, the son of filmmaker-editor David Dhawan has finally got third time lucky
Rohit was earlier supposed to make his directorial debut with a film titled Come on Pappu. This film was to star Akshay Kumar, Sonam Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor and a chimpanzee but its producers Percept Picture Company supposedly backed out due to lack of funds. Then it seems Rohit completely dropped the idea of making this film. He then worked on his own script and prepared his own set up for this film starring Akshay Kumar and John Abraham in the lead. Apparently, he took this project to Studio 18 but they refused to go ahead with it because of Akshay Kumar’s high price demand and John Abraham’s mega fee hike post back to back successes of Dostana and New York.
But finally Rohit got his dream debut project fulfilled when he approached another corporate biggie third time around. Eros International gave nod to his proposal and it will now be made under their banner. This film is a romantic comedy and will feature Akki-John playing pole dancers in a strip club. They had last worked together in 2005’s comic hit Garam Masala.
A new girl in John's life!

There is a new girl in John Abraham’s life. She’s jewellery designer Paulomi Sanghavi. To say that a romance is brewing between the two would be an exaggeration. But yes, a friendship is certainly sprouting.
The tinsel tattle has it that John and Paulomi met through common friends and have been in touch since then. Paulomi is believed to have a wide circle of friends and an elite clientele in Bollywood.
Some friends who’ve seen John and Paulomi together swear by their camaraderie. And others claim there’s nothing romantic between them.
It’s been years since John and Bipasha Basu began dating. The two have been going steady despite the rumours that have linked John to many of his co-stars like Vidya Balan and most recently Katrina Kaif.
Says a source: “John and Bipasha are still together. Recently, before he left to shoot for Abbas Tyrewala’s film in London, Bipasha especially flew from Hyderabad to Mumbai to spend some precious moments with her man”.
Well, John-Bips love story continues for now.
John Abraham is learning guitar

In case you are wondering why bollywood’s current heartthrob John Abraham has been so low profile lately, the fact is that he has been busy learning guitar for Imtiaz Ali’a Rock Star. “I am going to get those strings right. The audience has got very wise. They cab tell when an actor is faking,” says Johan Abraham. Source: ‘Hindustan Times’
John provides home to destitute elephants
.jpg)
Gals, I was quite inspired to read this. John is one of my favorite actors and I always praise what he does. Recently he suffered a fracture of his foot while on the sets of Hook Ya Crook. Poor John, but it’s nice that he is coming round but the doctor has asked him to go on his crutches still now. Yet that does not stop him being human. He recently provided home to 30 elephant who were homeless. Born of parents, David Abraham who has worked on building earthquake proof and tsunami proof houses in Latur and Tsunami affected areas and Mom Phiroza Irani has lent a hand and her heart to children suffering from cancer and the homeless John cannot do less. John was inspired by the eighty year old president Jimmy Carter whom he had met and says John - “I was stunned when I saw an 80 plus year old former President getting out in the hot sun in Lonavala and building houses. When I did it myself I realized how rewarding and satisfying it was. I built a house for an old lady; it made me happy. It’s different to sit in a board room meeting and talk causes and to actually go out there and do something.”
Great – Such thoughts bring tears to my eyes and I feel good when I can do my bit.
John wants to be the driving force for the youth and so he will.
Do you love this streak in John’s personality?
John’s nude photo in a daily could land him in serious trouble

John Abraham could be in a soup. A city court asked the Delhi Police to make a complaint on John for posing nude in a daily. I wonder which daily is that but “C.M. Dua, who runs an NGO, sought registration of a first information report (FIR) against the model-turned-actor as well as the publisher and the editor of the daily.” He was troubled to find the daily carrying the photograph on June 11, 2009, on his children’s desk.
‘New York’ brought audience back

Now Fridays will be no more spent in aimless shopping, cafes or other time pass spots. Movies are said to take their place back in their big screened homes. The waters seem to have calmed down on the shores of theatre and film business fronts.
With Yash Raj Films’ movie ‘New York’, it brought relief among the film buffs and it seems the season of movies have set on hereafter. ‘New York’ is said to be an outcome of minimal budget and yet went out to capture the audience both in India and abroad.
The land of movie lovers had been parched with lack of new releases past couple of months and with this one, movie seekers hungrily expects for more. Down the line this season, are couple of movies which are soon going to pull the audience back to the theatres. One can look forward movies from big banners like ‘Kambakkht Ishq’, ‘Love Aaj Kal’, ‘Kaminey’, ‘Luck’ and many more…
The wait is over, people!
‘New York’ and grand collections

After the stupendous weekend opening of yash raj films’ NEW YORK, which released worldwide on June 26th 2009, the film has grossed a phenomenal 55 crores worldwide in its first week to become the biggest hit of 2009 so far.
Directed by Kabir Khan and produced by Aditya Chopra, the film stars John Abraham, Katrina Kaif, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Irrfan, released in over 900 screens worldwide.
The film has been critically acclaimed as well as been wholeheartedly accepted by audiences all over the world.
It is heartening to know that the film has finally brought people back to the theatres and promises to carry on in the same vein going forward.
New York Preview

When a hardcore commercial flick gets a standing ovation and a huge round of applause at the end of the show, you know that there is something definitely right that the director has done. In this regard, Kabir Khan can take a bow because he has done exceedingly well in making a film that is not frivolous, has a message and still carries enough commercial ingredients to reach out to masses as well as classes.
His “New York” is a gripping dramatic thriller that has all the trappings to finally end the drought that Bollywood has been facing for an entire year so far.
The film gets on to the point right away. The entire sequence of events involving FBI and the round up of suspects is brilliantly executed that makes you further believe that Kabir Khan knows the job right.
If in his first attempt “Kabul Express” he gave a documentary start to the film by showing actual clippings of 9/11, in case of “New York” too he doesn’t shy away from showing the world what US has become post 9/11.
So what one gets to see is not just America’s mentality after 9/11, but also the way suspects are detained for months and tortured in spite of lack of concrete evidence. However, to the credit of the filmmaker, the brutality being demonstrated is pretty much under control. Even though the desired impact is created for the audience to be a part of the lives of John Abraham, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Katrina Kaif, nothing goes over the top or something that cannot be swallowed.
With a subject like “New York” where one of the protagonists is labelled as a terrorist and the other is out to prove that he isn’t, the film could have become a grim drama, more so because it deals with real issues. Still, the makers do not allow the film to go beyond the boundaries where it could possibly have been classified as an art or an offbeat film.
Instead, a strict eye is kept on the box office hence making sure there is enough drama, thrills and emotional moments to keep audiences thoroughly engaged in the not-so-lengthy movie.
John can finally do away with his trunks and ignore coming out of the sea and show his body beautiful for next few years. The acting potential in him has finally been tapped by Kabir Khan and he gives his career’s best performance so far in the movie. Watch out for the scenes in the detention centre or the film’s climax – they are surely going to bring a lump in your throat.
Neil has the most complex role of the three as he has to be a part of the proceedings in spite of being on the peripherals. Without revealing much about his part, it can be comfortably said that all the flak that he got post the release of “Aa Dekhen Zara” would be forgotten once audiences see him in this author backed role.
His scenes with Irrfan Khan, who plays an FBI officer and is extremely effective once again, need a special mention. They are extremely well written and enacted.
Katrina too suits the role to a T and after “Namastey London” again gets to play a part where she actually contributes to the film’s plot.
With the kind of subject that “New York” has, it could have easily become a sermonising or a pseudo exercise in motion. Thankfully, Aditya Chopra, who has written the film’s story, doesn’t allow that to happen. He keeps it all under check to ensure that “New York” reaches out to the masses while also ensuring itself quite a few awards when the best of the best are announced at the end of the year.
John has a limp?
I just read a recent interview of John where he wrote about his foot injury. John says he has a penchant for breaking bones and he has broken his ankle and his hand prior to this. Now he has broken his navicular bone. This bone is there in animals to and John says when a horse breaks this bone he develops a limp throughout his life. John has to go for the Promotions of New York and that’s a strain on his foot too. He has to rely on his crutches. John is not happy when people sympathize with him. Neil Nitin laughingly says, he walks like a duck!I am sure he will come round soon
John, Katrina defend intimate scenes in NY-Why make a big deal out of nothing?

As the entire country waits to see what the fuss is about the John-Katrina chemistry in New York is all about, reports have it that their intimate scenes in the film have given rise to some gossip.
The video of the song Mere sang was launched a few days ago, revealing that the song has a kiss and some intimate bedroom shots. Since this is Bollywood, as always, the kissing and the physicality has become an issue, forcing both John and Katrina to come to its defence.
Both Kat and John were quick to justify the relevance of the song in the film. Katrina said that the song is a part of the script and it's done in very beautiful manner. She said, "Only when you will see the film, will you realize the need for the song. The film has a space for this song. It comes in a very beautiful place. I think there is nothing offensive in it. It has been done in a very aesthetic way."
John too had a similar argument. He said, "One can't understand the sensitivity of the issue unless one watches the film. Once you see the film, you will be convinced of how beautifully the song relates to the script. It's very easy for us to look at it in isolation and say that the song is totally different from what New York is all about. But that's not the case."
Katrina and Bipasha – Will the two ends ever meet?

Katrina and John are great buddies in New York and because of the Katrina- Bipasha cold war and also because John and Salman cannot see each other eye to eye Katrina was a bit withdrawn from John on the sets of New York. But afterwards they all got on very well and they had a blast while shooting for the film. John is in no mood however in playing the pacifier between Katrina and Bipasha because he feels - Bipasha is a grown up, mature woman. So is Katrina Kaif. They are both experienced enough to sort out their own issues. I was there to play the character assigned to me in the film and not to act as a mediator between Katrina and Bipasha."
And Katrina also feels "I don't think anyone needs to play the role of a pacifier for anyone. We are all adults. If we feel the need to sort out our problems, we will do it on our own."
So that’s it.
Do you think Katrina and John look better on screen than John and Bipasha?
Don’t take me wrong buddies I am talking of on screen romance only.
Katrina and John get close…

I was quite interested when I looked at these intimate pictures of John and Katrina on a music video from New York. There was a lot of brouhaha on John and Katrina getting close while doing New York but if it is an onscreen romance can that be helped? Passionate love making are a part of the romantic drama of many a flick.
These scenes are from a music video of New York directed by Kabir Khan. The video song is called Mere Sang.
Do you think these add to the spice element in a film?
Neil Nitin Mukesh held for wrong identity

Neil Nitin Mukesh was detained at an U.S airport because they felt he was a British American due to his skin tone. Neil had to spend a lot of time explaining about the film he was doing under the direction of Kabir Khan. Neil said the film was made under a backdrop of the 9/11 terror attack. Neil, John and Katrina play buddies from India who study in an American University and how their relationships and corcumstances change along with the terror attack.
Neil says in India it is difficult to believe that a real friendship can happen between a boy and a girl and that’s exactly what turns out to be in New York. They share a wonderful relationship On New York and they carry the relationship on to the screen to make the film a success.
That’s the trio at a recent Promotional Meet of New York.
Who's smile do u think is cute?

New York Music Review:

Freida Pinto, John Abraham together in Hollywood Movie

Globalisation has broken all the cinema barriers worldwide and opened flood gates for Indian talent. And it has increasingly become a common trend for our Indian actors to work abroad, especially in Hollywood. Time and again we have had actors like Kabir Bedi, Gulshan Grover, Om Puri, Naseeruddin Shah appear in mainstream Hollywood movies.
And now, guess who is latest one to follow their footsteps? Well, if reports are to be believed, John Abraham has been signed for Andy Armstrong’s suspense thriller ‘American Empire’ along with current Hollywood heartthrob Freida Pinto.
The film narrates the story of a beautiful young woman and her hit man boyfriend who race against time to save their two friends falsely accused of “Delusions of Grandeur” and daring to steal from a new world crime boss.
While seeking the truth and their own ultimate salvation, they expose the audience to a bizarre underworld of eccentric characters and political intrigue. John remained tightlipped about his maiden Hollywood project and refused to comment on the latest development.
We can’t help but wonder how girlfriend Bips going to react to her beau going Hollywood?
