Asin, the modern age dream girl!
While at an event in Delhi Hema Malini the Dream Girl Eternal had vouched for Aishwarya Rai as the present day dream girl, people had a different opinion. They voted on an online poll and the results were stunning. Ash was at number three and there were no Kareena or Katrina near by. It was Asin who stole the largest number of votes.
She is the most popular dream girl of this age, it seems.
Asin, Sonam Kapoor’s Dostana
There are truces and friendships starting up all over Bollywood. The most recent duo stepping on the friendship boat is Asin and Sonam Kapoor. After Salman decided to call it a truce with Shah Rukh, and Aishwarya became friends anew with Sonam Kapoor, this one is the new friendship doing the rounds as the grapevine suggests.
Both the actresses have been seen chatting and bonding at parties, and spending time at each other’s houses. Asin is a newcomer to Mumbai and she is glad to have found a friend in Sonam. She has also spoken freely about her kinship with Anil Kapoor’s daughter in a recent interview.
Sonam’s friendship is a stable base for Asin as she is also new in Bollywood and does not know the workings of the industry. Sonam’s father being an A-list actor, she has been involved in the glamorous world of Bollywood since a very young age. Asin truly believes that actresses can be friends and combat rivalry.
Asin was working on The 19th Step which appears to be shelved now as veteran actor Kamal Hassan has walked out on the project. She was seen working very hard for the role and was very angry about the cancellation of the movie for now. Looks like she will find a friendly shoulder to cry on with Sonam.
Asin cannot support PETA cause

Prior to this PETA had requested celebs like Monisha Koirala and Aishwarya Rai to promote vegetarianism but when they asked Asin, she had to put her foot down. She said she could not support a cause which she herself can not follow. In fact, she is right.Asin says she is very fond of fish and chicken and she cannot go without non-vegetarian food even for a single today. Therefore it would be unwise for her to support a cause just because she has a huge fan following. And Asin surely cannot give up on her non veg food habits now.
Oh for those Sushie and the steaks… yes, Asin, as we know is a gourmet.
Asin loves to bask in her new-found independence!
We never knew Asin is a foodie and a gourmet and her way of enjoying her independence is trying out new cuisines while visiting different places, And this time in Macau at the IIFA she was happy to fly out of her father’s wings and be all by herself. Not that she would go on a splurge, shopping or freak out at the casinos. She just loves to be all by herself. But poor Asin cannot go to Japan now to shot for The 19th Step. That’s because of the World Recession and the Swine Flu and Joseph, her father is not too much into her going to Japan. So now Tadnobu Asano will join Asin in Kerala where the shoot would be done!
Asin reconnecting with roots....
Recently actress Asin was in Kerala for training in Kalaripayuttu, the ancient martial arts from Kerala. After going through the training the actress has decided to be the ambassador for the art and promote it. Reports say that her attitude in life has changed due the training and she has become more disciplined. Now, Asin wants to learn all the forms available on the art. She learned this art for an international film titled 'The 19th Step'. Way to go Asin!!!Asin Seems To Be unhappy with Bollywood media:
Asin was in Chennai recently meeting 40 lucky winners of TATA SKY Contest and spoke to media on this eve.
She said, “Medias in Hindi Film Industry are so pathetic that they have no stories other than penning rumors and silly gossips about me. I feel more insecure over there.’
I am not dating Salman Khan: Asin:
The rumour mills were busy churning out stories of how Salman is very fond of Asin and the latter has also become close to him. Reportedly, Salman even gifted her a house in Mumbai and a pet.
Now Asin wants to set the record straight, and as per her, Salman is just a co-star and nothing else. “We are together in a movie. Nothing more than that, nothing less than that,” she said in an interview.
Not long ago, there were rumours that Asin has a soft corner for Aamir Khan. If the buzz is to be believed Asin is also a huge fan of M S Dhoni.
