Women searching sexual partners online

Women aged 40 and above are just as likely as younger women to meet new sexual partners on the internet, according to a new Australian survey.

Nearly 45 per cent of the middle aged women agreed to ensnare at least one new lover in a year.

According to study leader Deborah Bateson, a senior medical coordinator at Family Planning NSW, the internet ''seems to be a very useful place for them ... It''s great that older women are out there meeting new partners."

She conducted the research to see whether 40-pluses were able to negotiate safe sex as effectively as their younger counterparts.

''Three-quarters [of sexually transmitted infections] are detected in people aged under 29, but there''s also an increase in women aged 40 and above ... entering or re-entering the dating market, perhaps after the end of a long-term relationship,'' the Sydney Morning Herald quoted Bateson as saying.

For the survey, an online dating site RSVP, owned by the Herald's publisher, Fairfax Media, sent an email to female participants, directing them to Bateson's survey site.

The findings revealed that older women were more forthright in insisting on knowing a new partner's sexual history.

Nearly 59 per cent of the over-40s would ask about previous partners, versus 43 per cent of the younger women, with a similar discrepancy in willingness to ask about intravenous drug use.

''''The older women seemed to benefit from the maturity of years and asked those potentially tricky questions,'''' said Bateson.

However, 37 per cent of the older women were more likely to agree to sex without a condom, compared to 28 per cent of younger women.

The findings were presented at 2009 Australasian Sexual Health Conference in Brisbane.

Rihanna opens up on the Chris-Brown-assault

Add to Jamespot

The singer has finally opened up on the gruesome incident that took place on the evening of the '08 Grammys. Ever since, the memory of the verbal and physical abuse from her then boyfriend Chris Brown has piggybacked into our consciousness every time we see the artist. Her in-yer-face sense of fashion is probably the only other dimension we care to talk about. But all that's about to change. With the upcoming release of her latest album Rated R, Riri has also made up her mind to move on publicly. She speaks without inhibition on the emotional turmoil to Diane Sawyer on Good Morning America.

"He was definitely my first big love," Rihanna said. "We were best friends, so we fell in love with each other. To fall in love with your best friend it can be scary because the emotions get... the best of you," she explained. "We just fell really fast, [and] the more in love we became the more dangerous we became for each other, equally dangerous, 'cause it was a bit of an obsession almost."

Of the night she remembers that ""he had no soul in his eyes, just blank He was clearly blacked out. There was no person when I looked at him."

Though she regrets the brief reconciliation after the battering much to her fans' astonishment, she explains why she did it: "The love doesn't go away right away. He didn't accept that very well. He obviously didn't want us to be apart, but I know how to make a decision for me."

She recalls how hard it was to take a stance and call it off. "It was confusing for me. I was still attached by love. But I wasn't thinking about the reality of the situation. You start lying to yourself. This is a memory you don't want to have ever again. The physical wounds go away, you put it in the back of your head and you start lying to yourself subconsciously I felt very lonely. I couldn't even go back to my own house because there were 200 people outside with cameras, paparazzi, journalists, fans, neighbors."

Over the last couple of months, Rihanna has had time to move on from humiliation and hate to certainty that she made the right decision for herself that has also instilled an empathy for Brown's plight in the media.

"If I feel this depressed, then what is he going through? I had to protect him. I thought that I had to let him know, 'Don't do anything crazy. Like, just hang in there.' The whole world hates him now. His fans, his career. I'm not saying that's an excuse for me to go back, but this is what I was thinking about."

"I don't have a desire at all to be with him," she added. "I can't see how we would get back together, but I'm also not God, and I can't predict the future. No, I don't hate him at all. I actually love and care about him, and I think I'm concerned about him doing well. I want him to do well."

Rihanna felt it was high-time she spoke out loud about the taboo night as, "I knew I had to do this in order to move on for me and in order for my fans to move on with me, because it would always be a question in their mind," she said. "I don't want that five years from now — every time they see Rihanna, they think of Chris Brown beating me. That's not who I am. It's just one thing that happened to me."

I'll strip till the day I die, says Pamela Anderson

Add to Jamespot

Former Baywatch star Pamela Anderson has said she'll be stripping off until the day she dies.

The 42-year-old actress who has also got panned for her 'mutton dressed as lamb' and 'trailer trash' taste in fashion by critics earlier, says she has no plans to tone things down when it comes to peeling off, reports mirror.co.uk.

"I don't think there'll be a cut-off period. Until my body starts changing in a certain way I'm sure I'll dress like me. Sometimes I'll be in a bikini running around with a little wrap around me to drive my kids to school. At other times, it's nice to dress conservative - although I'm not really known for that," she said.

"You still want to look hot, you still want to look sexy. It's so boring when people dress to be trendy or dress the way they've seen in the magazines. I think what you wear says a lot about you. It's a statement and it's kind of like your own art, it's your body and the way you present yourself. Why not have fun?" she added.

He may have very famous parents, but little Cruz is emerging as the real star of the Beckham family.

The four-year-old, who has already dazzled the world with his breakdancing moves and flair for fancy dress, showed off a spiffy new haircut in Los Angeles over the weekend.

He was styling out a primped and preened Mowhawk in a look reminiscent of the cut David famously had back in 2002.

He debuted his freshly trimmed mane at his father's now notorious return match for LA Galaxy on Sunday.

While the game was marred by David's confrontation with angry fans, the littlest Beckham didn't seemed fazed.

She is playing a pregnant single mother. But Jennifer Lopez still went for maximum sex appeal in a white fitted sheath dress on the set of her new movie The Back-Up Plan.

The dress clung in all the right places showing off the singer's curvaceous figure - complete with perfectly formed prosthetic bump.

But it looks like her most famous asset might also have benefited from a some of the magic of the movies as she also looked somewhat larger in the bottom area.

J.Lo - also nicknamed La Guitarra because of her curvy physique - cut an impressive figure in her brilliant white dress.

Her stunning look was in stark contrast to Sunday's scenes which saw the actress soaked to the skin and looking bedraggled after getting caught in a downpour on the streets of New York.

But it turns out the impromptu shower was quite deliberate - she was simply filming a scene from new movie The Back-Up Plan.

The 39-year-old shivered between takes as she was covered in water from a rain machine in Manhattan on Sunday.

Her character Zoe tries to hail a cab on a rainy day in New York and gets completely soaked in the meanwhile.

With her soft brown waves turned to wet frizz and her clothing completely wet, J.Lo looked far from her usual glamorous self.

In a case of art imitating life, the actress plays a mother of twins in her latest big screen offering, The Back-Up Plan.

She looked completely at ease as she fussed over the tiniest star on the set who was dressed all in pink.

Later the baby was swapped for a pair of dolls as Jennifer filmed scenes strolling down the street with two prams along with Australian actor Alex McLoughlin, who plays her love interest Stan.

She was also seen sharing a kiss with McLoughlin and in a less romantic moment was spotted rummaging through a rubbish bin.

Her generous curves topped the list of figures that women would most like to have themselves.

In fact two in three yearn for an hourglass 'in and out' figure, a survey of 2,000 women found.

Miss Lawson topped the poll when the women were asked whose figure they found most inspiring. She was followed by the womanly Dame Helen Mirren (whose photo last year in a red bikini was regarded as the epitome of mature glamour), the elegant Dame Judi Dench and Kate Winslet, a curvy English rose.
