To know about the characters of an unreleased movie is like we got let in on a secret, it’s a rare occurrence. So here is Ranbir Kapoor’s character sketch in Karan Johar’s Wake Up Sid to wet your appetite.
The young actor plays a boy named Siddharth Mehra who is about to finish college but is aimless, lacks motivation and like many adolescents is lazy. Yes, now we know why the movie is named ‘Wake Up Sid’.
Ranbir has a laid-back attitude towards life in the movie, unlike the characters he played in his previous films. If in Saawariya, he was a dreamy-romantic boy madly in love with a girl; Bachna Ae Haseeno had him playing a serial dater but accidental lover, whose boyish charm made girls swoon. Now, his next role is a contemporary tale of a metropolitan guy.
Ranbir’s character is based in amchi Mumbai, he is a boy who dozes off before exams and likes to sleep till the late hours of the day. His not-so serious life starts changing when he comes across sassy Konkona Sen Sharma and nothing remains the same as the movie unfolds and Sid wakes up.
‘Wake Up Sid’ is slated for an October release. |
